Embark on a cultural adventure without leaving town! The Refugee Settlement Volunteer position welcomes refugees into our community and helps to build bridges of understanding, cross cultural learning and friendship between people of different cultures. Serve as a guide to Canadian culture and support a refugee person/family in a social environment. The responsibilities include attending and completing the training for the Refugee Settlement Volunteer Project.

Activities include, but are not limited to, spending time with your refugee partner:

Touring around the city
Attending free or low-cost events in your area
Grocery Shopping
Teaching them how to use public transit
Cooking together
More!

Time Commitment
The commitment for The Refugee Settlement Volunteer (RSV) position is for 3 months for a minimum of 2 hours per week, working with and supported by a team of volunteers and Options Surrey Community Services Society staff.
